Sprucing Up the Place
Many of you are Hugo House members—perhaps you donate to be able to register early and get a discount on classes, or get a discount a local independent bookstores, or get a discount on tickets to our Literary Series, or for the warm fuzzies of supporting a nonprofit whose work in the community you deem important (thanks!)? I bet for a lot of you, the answer is “all of the above.”
Well, we’d like to add a couple more things to the “above.”
As of today, you’ll find an updated list of member benefits. There are many things that aren’t changing, but here are some new benefits you’ll be pleased to hear about:
- a 10 percent discount at Blick Art Materials on Broadway and East Pine
- and for $100 (Sentence-level) and above members, a writing office at Hugo House!
The writing office, on the first floor of the House by the back door, has wifi access, outlets, a desk, dozens of books on the craft of writing, a white board for brainstorming and baskets of prompts and encouragement you can pull from. It will generally be open when the House is open and is first-come, first-served. You’ll be limited to two hours if there is someone else is waiting; you’re also always welcome to take a seat in the cabaret and write in there when there isn’t other programming.
Happy fall, happy writing and THANK YOU, as always for your continuing support of the House.
