Dear Seattle Restaurants: Name a Sandwich After Me, Please
I have no idea who Cal Anderson is, or was, but I think it's pretty great he had a park named after him. Whoever that Yesler guy was must have been cool to have a whole street named after him. And Denny must be smiling upon us from Heaven, proud of the fact that he not only has a way named after him, but a triangle as well.
This is how I'd like to be remembered in Seattle. I'd like a sandwich named after me.
Instead of waiting around for this to just happen, I thought I'd make the request. Hey Seattle restaurants, could one of you please name a sandwich "The Ryan Boudinot"?
In return, I'll write a short story set in your restaurant. Maybe this story will be good enough to get published in an upcoming book, who knows? I'll even read it aloud in your restaurant after eating the sandwich.
In order for the sandwich to reflectively deserve the name "Ryan Boudinot," you should know that I am an ovo-lacto vegetarian. I hate olives and olive-related things. I'm a big fan of meat alternatives like field roast and grilled tofu.
What say you, Seattle restauranteurs? Put me on your menu, and I'll put you in my imagination.

What a wonderful idea! My vote for "The Ryan Boudinot" is a Boca Burger on a wheat bun with melted Feta cheese and sliced jalapeños, served with a side of sweet potato fries...
