The Fine Print

Year-long memberships begin on the first date of the month in which you donate. So, if you donated on September 15, 2011, for example, your membership period is 9/1/11 - 8/31/12.

If you make an additional gift within the first three months of your membership period, you will be upgraded. So, if you gave $50 to begin your membership and then another $50 six weeks later (thanks!), you will go from being a Word-level member to being a Sentence-level member. Additional gifts received after the first three months of membership will extend your membership renewal date.

Other Ways to Get a Membership

We offer a discounted membership ($25-$49) for full-time students, full-time teachers and seniors aged 65+, which includes all the benefits of the $50 – $99 level.

If you'd rather donate offline, download and mail in this handy form.
