By becoming a member of Hugo House, you declare your commitment to writing and reading. It's that easy.  You also join a community of people who believe that writing is a vital part of life and that art is not a luxury. Plus, Hugo House members get a bunch of cool benefits:

  • Discounts and early registration for Hugo Writing Classes (avoid the dreaded wait list!);
  • Invitations to members-only parties;
  • Discounts on Hugo merchandise, on renting space at the House and on tickets to select events;
  • 10% off all books purchased at Elliott Bay Book Company;
  • Use of the Hugo House WiFi connection.

Simply present your membership card when you want to take advantage of these benefits.

All memberships last one year. Individual memberships cost $50; memberships for full-time students, K-12 teachers and seniors over 65 are $25; and you can get a membership for your whole household (two adults and all kids under 18) for $65. Your dues are tax deductible and can be matched by your employer if your workplace has a matching gift program.
