Richard Hugo House thrives and depends on the generous support of our community. 85% of our events are free to the public.
As we gear up for our annual Giving Campaign, we thought we'd experiment with new ways to raise awareness about how Hugo House affects the people who take part in our programs, events and classes.
One of the ways we'll do this is to film short videos telling the world how Hugo House has made a difference in your writing life. It can be an amazing experience you had at a Lit Series event, a fear of the open mic that you conquered at Works in Progress, Cheap Wine & Poetry, Cheap Beer & Prose, etc. Maybe it was a class that made an impact on your writing?
Whatever it was, if Hugo House has made a difference, tell us!
If you want to film a video on your own and upload it to your own youtube channel, send an email to email@example.com with the link to the video, with the preferred subject line:#WHYHUGO: 'Name of Participant.'
If you'd like to participate, but don't want to appear on film, you can write a blog post about your experience at Hugo House. Place them up on your blog and send us the link, with the preferred subject line:#WHYHUGO: 'Name of Participant.'
These videos and posts will help us share with the world what we do and will hopefully help us raise money so we can continue offering our programs, events and classes. So if you'd like, come film a video with us, or send us a video or blog post of your own. Together we can tell more people about the resources offered at Hugo House and help make those resources even great for the next year.
Participants will have their names entered into a raffle to receive a $25 gift certificate to a Hugo class.
