Word of the Day: Docent
Docent [doh-suhnt ] –noun: 1. German: privatdocent. 2. A college or university lecturer. 3. A person who is a knowledgeable guide, esp. one who conducts visitors through a museum and delivers a commentary on the exhibitions.
Ben kept a Word document listing every influential and encouraging person—first friends, dead family members, docents and tutors—he had met since kindergarten, which he would include in the back of his first novel.
