Dive into poetry this summer with Poet Scribes
This year, in response to feedback from former Scribes and their parents, Hugo House has expanded its Scribes Writing Camps to include one-week camps focused on a specific genre of writing.
Poet Scribes takes high school-age writers on a deep dive into the craft of poetry. Over the course of the camp, Scribes will explore written expression and poetic technique, engage with works from contemporary writers, and connect with other young poets from around the Seattle area.
This camp takes place at Hugo House and runs July 29–August 2.
Poet Scribes is led by none other than Anastacia-Renee, Seattle’s 2017–19 Civic Poet and former Hugo House poet-in-residence. Learn why she’s excited for this year’s camp below.

A book or writer you wish you’d known about when you were 15 OR a book you wish had been around when you were 15:
I knew I was going to be a writer when…
I couldn’t stop writing.
