Kathleen Flinn Presents Readings From Her Works in Progress

New York Times-bestselling author Kathleen Flinn will host her first public work-in-progress readings on March 20 and April 17. She’ll be reading chapters of her third book tentatively titled Burnt Toast Makes You Sing Good, a memoir with recipes from her Midwest childhood. The book is slated for publication by Viking/Penguin in early 2014. Flinn’s other books are The Sharper Your Knife, the Less You Cry and The Kitchen Counter Cooking School. Samples of recipes from the upcoming book will be offered along with a silent auction of signed cookbooks by notable authors with proceeds to the U-District food bank.

Cocktails from 6:30, reading 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Free.
