Lillo Way: Dubious Moon | Chapbook Launch

Hotel Sorrento Fireside Room (900 Madison Street) | free

The moon’s grown fat and I’m suspicious
because several stars have gone missing

the sky’s an evil shade of black,
and someone’s stolen every leaf, leaving

nothing but bleached tree-skeletons
pointing bony fingers at the culprit…

Poet Lillo Way will read from her new chapbook, Dubious Moon, winner of the 2017 Hudson Valley Writers Center’s Slapering Hol Chapbook Contest.

Way, who is a frequent student at Hugo House, will be joined by Hugo instructors and colleagues—Carolyne Wright, Judith Skillman, Shankar Narayan, Kenneth Wagner, Heidi Seaborn, and Michele Bombardier—who will also do short readings of their own to open the night.

Books will be for sale from Open Books: A Poem Emporium.
