Q: What’s been your experience so far writing on the theme “People Will Talk”?
A: So far, working on this story has been a lot of fun. I’m writing about a town where all the men end up having to ride bikes because they get in trouble for drunk driving.

Q: Has a rumor ever been spread about you? If so, what did you do about it?
A: In grad school, this one woman who didn’t care for me started a rumor that I was an alcoholic which was just hilarious to anyone who knows me. I did nothing about it but made a point of enjoying gin & tonic in her presence whenever I could.

Q: 3. How do you approach writing a new piece — whether self-started or based on a prompt?
A: I tend to spend a lot of time in my head as I embark on a new piece, thinking through what I want to say and how, and then, when everything falls into place, I have an intense period of writing where I try to get it all out, as best and true as I can.

Q: Tell us why you think people should attend the Lit Series.
A: Richard Bausch is reading and it’s sure to be an entertaining evening, something people will talk about.
