Instructor: Liza Birnbaum. In this class, students will read and write prose that brings the relationship between the self and the nonhuman world into sharp focus.

Please note that this class will be taught in Spanish.

Instructor: Geraldine Woods. In this class, learn how to explain anything, in any genre, clearly and effectively. After analyzing examples from various writers, students will write their own explanatory passages.

Instructor: Marguerite Harrold. The zuihitsu is a Japanese form and genre comparable to the lyric essay comprising casual, loosely connected fragments and ideas. Using Sei Shōnagon's The Pillow Book, this class will explore poetry, lyrical essays, and hybrid work.

Instructor: Edward Sambrano III. This class will read and examine effective and imaginative use of the "poetic speaker" device—the perspective in which a poem is written. 

Instructor: Joe Wilkins. In this craft workshop, we will discuss four techniques for attending to language and crafting evocative prose.

Instructor: Cate Lycurgus. This generative class explores the letter poem and its opportunities for connection, social commentary or critique, catharsis, and discovery. 

Instructor: Michelle Peñaloza. This class aims to explore poetic structure and craft in more detail through readings, prompts, discussions, and workshops of your poems.

Instructor: Molly Schaeffer. Mining our own notes and fragments for use in writing prompts, we'll recycle and experiment with our own words, utilizing techniques including collage, mapping, poetry, and memoir.

Instructor: Danielle Mohlman. Shape the dialogue of your play by building and creating compelling characters, exploring voice, and driving your plot forward through your characters' behaviors and choices.

Instructor: Miriam Tobin. Through a combination of readings, interactive conversations, and generative writing exercises, students will explore playwriting elements such as structure, characters, setting, action, and style.

Instructor: Rachel Werner.  Learn the benefits and opportunities of navigating the "lesser-known" paths to becoming a published author working with educational institutions, businesses, publishers, and more.

Instructor: Lyzette Wanzer. Open to writers of all genres, students in this workshop will read, craft, and revise through several drafts of their artist statements for practical application with grants, author websites, residency and funding applications, and more.

Instructor: Jaye Viner.  In this class, students will study and discuss different approaches to descriptive language through craft lectures and generative writing prompts.

Instructor: Jasmine Griffin. In this class, participants will discuss four subgenres of horror and analyze four short horror fiction pieces, learning how to apply techniques from the texts to their own work.

Instructor: Meghan Lamb. This class will include readings, exercises, and conversations to explore how non-human perspectives can help us access the most essential elements of our humanity.

Instructor: Tina Tocco. For adult, middle grade, or YA fiction writers,  this generative fiction workshop will use images, lists, sounds, brainstorming, and other prompts to help get your mind whirling and fingers flying.

Instructor: Alle Hall. Learn about the evolving publishing industry—money, queries, agents, and more—and generate fiction using writing exercises, peer and teacher feedback, and more. Leave with a solid draft of one piece, two query letters, and a system for tracking submissions.

Instructor: Tara Campbell. Explore the genre of flash fiction and create your own compact masterpieces, with reading and discussions around the definition of flash fiction, fundamentals of storytelling within the constraints of flash, and more.

Instructor: Lauren Davis. Participants will explore and write to prompts inspired by Mary Oliver's writing advice and craft.

Instructor: Naa Akua. Designed for writers looking to immerse themselves in diverse forms of poetic expression and techniques, this class will explore craft essentials, read and write alongside great poets, and provide an introduction to the workshop model.

Instructor: Aimee Suzara. Engage with poetry and spoken word by Asian and Asian American writers identifying themes of belonging and otherness, homeland and loss, as well as the current climate of anti-Asian sentiment and how we challenge it by telling our stories. 

Instructor: Asa Drake. In this generative workshop, we'll cover essential elements of long and short-form reviews and address practical aspects of writing criticism.

Instructor: Margot Leitman. Students will learn to dig inside their own lives to find humorous and relatable material that unifies an audience, with additional focus on getting through the fear of being judged for candor.
