Great news came with the National Endowment for the Arts’ second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2017:
Among the more than $82 million awarded for arts projects nationwide, $30,000 was awarded to Hugo House to support the 2017–2018 season of events!
“Funding provided through the NEA ensures that there’s access for all to the arts, and we are thrilled to have the continued support of this vital granting organization,” said Hugo House executive director Tree Swenson.
Our upcoming season will emphasize the importance of craft, reading broadly, and making room for lively conversations about writing through our two signature series, Hugo Literary Series and Word Works: Writers on Writing; the return of Writers Under the Influence, a quarterly series celebrating the legacy and work of writers who have made a major contribution; and residencies and fellowships for established and emerging writers.
We will be announcing the full lineup of writers appearing in the upcoming season and residency recipients later this summer.
