Poetry: Fast & Fearless
Genres: Poetry
Online
Introductory, Intermediate
1 Session
Can you write good poetry quickly? Maybe not, but if you don't write fearless first drafts, you can't get to better revisions. In this three-hour course, we'll discuss similes and metaphors, movement, list poems, and how poems offer something unexpected. We'll discuss why certain tropes work well in contemporary poetry and how to use reading aloud for others to supercharge your editing abilities. We'll write in class and discuss habits of poetry to move you forward.
