We will (dis/un)cover the elements of creative writing by paying close attention to literary works that do not conventionally fit into any one genre or tradition. We will investigate these readings and the boundaries they establish (or disassemble), in addition to tracing their formal, racial, political, and personal “borders.” Borders may be permeable or impermeable membranes, with infiltration, exchange, and passage. This workshop aims to cultivate your individual aesthetic, imagination, and a creative-critical mind.
Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Spring quarter 2021.
All times are listed in Pacific Time.
