There is no rule to writing great fiction except to “never be boring.” Also, please try not to be confusing or vague about important information. We’ll focus on compelling openings of stories and novels through a combination of discussion, reading, and workshop.
This class will meet in Wallingford at Good Shepherd Center room 221 (4649 Sunnyside Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103).
Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Spring quarter 2021.

Peter Mountford’s novel A Young Man’s Guide to Late Capitalism won a 2012 Washington State Book Award. His second novel, The Dismal Science, was published in February, 2014. A former Hugo House writer in residence, Peter is currently on faculty at Sierra Nevada College's low residency MFA program.
