In this class, we’ll examine the building blocks of the screenwriter’s art via a wide variety of fine films. In addition, students will have the opportunity to workshop the first five pages of their own screenplays.
Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Winter quarter 2021.

Michael Shilling is the author of Rock Bottom, a novel published by Little, Brown. The musical adaptation of the book was staged in 2014 by the Landless Theater Company. His stories have appeared in The Sun, Fugue, and Other Voices.
