Speculative Flash Fiction

Introductory | Worldbuilding in its most compact form, speculative flash fiction introduces fantastical ideas and explores them in less than 1,000 words. In this two-day course, we will read contemporary examples of the speculative short-short to understand their precision and craft. In-class exercises will help students jumpstart their own speculative flashes.

Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Winter quarter 2021.

All times are listed in Pacific Time.
