The Architecture of Writing

Winston Churchill wrote: “We shape our buildings, and then our buildings shape us.” The same is true of writing. Your choice of narrative structure deeply impacts both your story and readers. This class will examine the subliminal effects of a variety of structures in both fiction and memoir—from chronological to flashbacks, dueling POVs to interconnected stories, collage and more. Bring a project in mind or on paper and get ready to play.
