On our world tour of innovative and overlooked literature, we will slip past the arbitrary borders drawn by the canon to encounter foreign poetic forms and tour translated innovations in fiction and nonfiction. We will examine riddle poems, list essays, and the travelogue memoirs of transnational writers. Each student will be prompted to smuggle new skills into their writing and to bring new work to one of our weekly workshops.
Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Winter quarter 2021.
All times are listed in Pacific Time.
