Corbin Lewars, M.Ed. has been mentoring writers and teaching writing at conferences, universities, homeless shelters, etc. for twenty years. Her clients are best selling authors who have earned PEN Awards, Nancy Pearl Awards, PNBA nominations, been finalist for the Washington State (and other state) Book Awards, USA Best Book Award and have been published in NY Times, LA Times, The Sun and countless of other literary journals. She works with writers every step of the way including fleshing out the original concept, structure and theme; developmentally editing the work; coaching on where to submit; co-writing the query letters, pitch and book proposals; converting manuscripts to screenplays and vice versa; navigating contracts; and setting up speaking engagements, book launches and other venues to support their work. Many of her clients’ work focuses on a larger goal of giving back or serving underserved voices and she helps guide them in forming nonprofits, outreach, etc.

She is the Executive Director of Hold Your Crown and VoiceCatcher and was the managing editor of Verve, Detour Ahead, Little More Time and several other magazines and anthologies. She is the author of four books, including a PNBA and WA State nominee and her essays are widely published. www.corbinlewars.com

Most classes are offered at a general and member tuition rates based on instruction hours, with Hugo House members receiving a 10% discount on classes fewer than six sessions.

Early bird discounts are available during the first two weeks of registration and apply to both general and member tuition rates.

To help provide financial accessibility to our class offerings, some classes each quarter are offered with a sliding-scale tuition model, allowing students to pay what they can for the class. For these classes, tuition increments starting at $5 and going up to 125% of the standard pricing will be listed on the page.

Hugo House will only process refund requests that are submitted 5 business days or more before the class start date. To request a refund, log in to your account, go to “My Account,” select the “Orders” tab on the left-hand side, click the appropriate order, and request a refund for your specific class. Administrative fees apply. Please see our full refund policy here.

We do not record classes. However, an exception if a student has specific access needs.

We encourage students to only sign up for classes that fit with their schedule.
