Hugo House’s calendar is packed with events throughout the year, from readings to craft talks, writing circles to open mics, and so much more. When Hugo House events aren’t happening, we strive to make our space available, accessible, and active by providing space for events developed and produced by people within our literary community.
Whether it’s a reading, discussion, craft talk, or interview, explore these events and more featuring renowned authors, emerging writers, and talented new and local voices.
Our signature Speaker Series brings acclaimed and talented writers from around the region and the country to share their work and knowledge of the writing craft with the Hugo House community.Learn More

Propose an Event
We open our space for community members to host their literary arts events at Hugo House when it is not in use already. We typically book events six to nine months out to provide thorough support and coordination time.
