In this class, students will write short humor pieces. We will spend time on writing exercises and telling jokes in a highly supportive environment. Outside of class, students will expand ideas from these jokes into short humor pieces of 500 to 800 words for publications like The New Yorker, McSweeney's, Slackjaw, and many more. By the end of the course, each student will have written at least three short humor pieces and numerous stand-up jokes.
