Industry Talks: Finding Your Voice in Writing Horror RPGs with Banana Chan

Join us at Hugo House’s Lapis Theater for Industry Talks: Careers in the Literary Arts, an engaging evening that explores the many professional paths within the world of writing, publishing, and literary production.

This event brings together authors, editors, publishers, literary agents, and other industry professionals for insightful conversations about their work and the evolving landscape of the literary arts. Attendees will gain exposure to the diverse opportunities available across the field—whether in creative writing, editing, marketing, or event programming and learn how different roles contribute to the broader literary ecosystem.

The evening will feature a moderated discussion, followed by an open Q&A session and networking opportunities, offering a welcoming space for writers, readers, and anyone passionate about storytelling to connect and exchange ideas.

Join Banana Chan in a conversation about how they got into the tabletop gaming space, how they use horror to express their voice and how you can utilize some of their findings in your own path to writing TTRPGs too! They will be discussing some of their past games and their approach to writing horror.

The House bar will be open to serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Banana Chan

Banana Chan is a Cantonese Canadian horror game designer and screenwriter living in Seattle. She is also the owner of the publishing company, Read/Write Memory. Her most notable work has been on Forgery, Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall, Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft, Betrayal at House on the Hill: 3rd Edition and Chucky: The Board Game. She won Dicebreaker Awards' Game Designer of the Year 2022 and 2 Silver ENnie Awards in 2022.
