Join us for Hugo House's first ever music-forward open mic night centered on original work only, no covers. This event brings together musicians, writers, and hybrid performers. With a limited lineup and a community-centered atmosphere, each performance is given space to be fully experienced. Whether you're performing or attending, expect a respectful, engaging evening centered on creativity, craft, and connection.

- 20 total performers, 10 pre-registered

- 10 day-of sign-ups (first come, first served)
- Performance styles: Music, poetry, prose, or hybrid
- Audience seating: Maximum capacity is 80

Day-Of Sign-Ups
- Open at 6:00 PM (front desk)
- Close at 6:50 PM or when full
- First come, first served
Performance Guidelines
- 5-minute sets (includes setup + transitions)
- (Up to ~6 minutes max if needed)
- Solo artists or duos preferred
- Original work only, no covers
Not Allowed
- Full bands or drum kits
- Loud electric setups
- Backing tracks requiring playback systems
- Equipment & Sound
Provided:
- 1â2 vocal mics (wired + optional wireless)
- 1 instrument mic
- 2 DI boxes
- Mic stands, stools/chairs
- Up to 4 music stands
Additional:
- Extra cables available
- Water station on-site
- Bring a clip-on tuner if needed
- Sound & Setup
- Quick sound checks only:
- Vocal check (speak + sing)
- Instrument at performance volume
- Quick room balance
- Levels locked
- Note: No extended sound checks during the event
Performer Flow
- Be ready when called
- Tune and prep offstage (green room available)
- Keep setups minimal for smooth transitions
- Not ready? You may be moved later in the lineup
- Tip: Only adjust mic height, leave placement and levels as set.
Timing
- Time limits are strictly enforced to keep things fair:
- 1-minute warning signal
- Hosts may fade sound or end sets if needed
Accessibility
- Removable mic for flexible use
- DI setup for seated performers
- Extra setup time available upon request
- Stage access support provided
