Andre Dubus III (DIRTY LOVE) and Nicole Hardy (CONFESSIONS OF A LATTER-DAY VIRGIN) with Claire Dederer at Town Hall Seattle
Downstairs at Town Hall; enter on Seneca Street.
The Dallas Morning News credits celebrated author Andre Dubus III with “an eye for searing detail that is unequaled so far this century.” And now, in the new Dirty Love, the author of the bestseller House of Sand and Fog turns that eye to the needs and weaknesses of people seeking gratification in food, sex, work, and love. It’s a book of disillusioned intimacy and persistent yearning whose narratives express tenderness toward humans, our vulnerable hearts and bodies, and our fulfilling and unfulfilling lives alone and with others. Taking the stage first is Seattle poet/essayist/waitress/teacher Nicole Hardy, author of the funny and thoughtful memoir Confessions of a Latter-Day Virgin, who appeared at Town Hall in October 2012 for the wildly popular LitCrawl. Bainbridge Islander Claire Dederer, author of the bestselling memoir Poser: My Life in Twenty-Three Yoga Poses, moderates.
