6 Sessions
This class will introduce students to the craft of fiction writing and help them begin to build a writing practice. We will read and discuss published work as we explore scene-setting, how to create complex characters, how to write dialogue, and other craft elements. There will be in-class, guided writing prompts that correspond to our discussion topics. The class will also include a workshop component, so students can develop a story or novel excerpt with peer feedback, and review and offer feedback on others' work.
