In this class, we'll develop actionable strategies for dreaming and writing the poems that are missing from your manuscript-in-progress. Engage in reading, generative exercises, and collaborative editing, with the goal of completing the book of poems inside you. Especially geared towards students who have taken Assembling the Manuscript, but also for anyone ready to take risks and generate new materials toward a collection of poems.
Please note that this class has been rescheduled from the fall quarter, and it is not listed in the winter print catalog.

Tess Taylor
Tess Taylor, an avid gardener, is the author of five acclaimed collections of poetry including Work & Days, which was named one of the 10 best books of poetry of 2016 by the New York Times. Her writing has appeared in The Atlantic, The Kenyon Review, Poetry, Tin House, The Times Literary Supplement, CNN, and the New York Times. She has also served as on-air poetry reviewer for NPR’s All Things Considered for over a decade. Taylor is local to the Bay Area where she tends to fruit trees and backyard chickens.

To request a refund, log in to your account, go to “My Account,” select the “Orders” tab on the left-hand side, click the appropriate order, and request a refund for your specific class. Class sessions may be recorded if a session falls on a holiday, or if a student has access needs. Class recordings are not guaranteed.

Classes may be cancelled if less than 5 students are enrolled within 10 days before the class start date. If for any reason Hugo House needs to cancel a class, students can choose between a full credit or full refund.
