Let's spend a day devoted to memoir together! In the morning, we'll focus on shorter prompts, craft lessons on scene writing, and strategies for moving between timeframes and narrative modes. Over a long lunch break, you'll be given a longer assignment you can submit later for written comments if you want. The afternoon block will be devoted to craft lessons on openings and endings and structure, leaving time for Q&A at the end.

    • Generative Writing: students create new work during class or from assignments.
  • Feedback in class: Instructor feedback given.
  • Work outside of class: No writing or reading outside of class.
