Poems Regarding the Soul [Johnny Horton]

We’ll follow Whitman’s lead and “invite [our] soul[s].” We’ll divide our time between reading, generating new poems, and workshopping. We’ll read classic English and American poems regarding the soul by John Donne, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, and Richard Wilbur as well as contemporary poems. This class is for writers who enjoy discussion and for those who want to make an emotional impact with abstract concepts like soul.
