Designed for any poet ready to take their poetry understanding to a new level, Poetry I will introduce you to poems from many different eras—we’ll read Hanif Abdurraquib, Ada Limón, Robert Hayden, Jan Beatty, Joy Harjo, among many others—while providing a rich foundation for writing new poems. We’ll explore and practice many essential elements of poetry, including metaphors, sound, imagination, and overall structure and multiple forms.
