Poetry as a Waking Dream [Emily Warn]
In many poems, dream imagery and archetypal journeys or predicaments create a state similar to that between sleeping and waking. We’ll read dream-like poems to serve as models from writers such as Mahmoud Darwish, Rodger Kamenetz, William Blake, and C.D. Wright and then write in class, focusing on using associations and imagery to craft poems whose resolutions arise from dream logic.
