The House on Mango Street has been a beloved classic of Latinx literature for almost forty years. Written in lyrical vignettes, the book relates the coming of age of Esperanza among a mosaic of characters from the working class, urban community she lives in. For this class, we will use Cisneros' work as a model and inspiration for generating our own stories. The class is best for anyone writing coming of age stories—their own or a character's.
