Online
Intermediate
6 Sessions
With Dan Koboldt's Putting the Science in Fiction as a guide, students will examine the genre of science fiction through scientific principles and speculative concepts. Each week, students will read both popular science articles and science fiction stories. Students can choose how "hard" or "soft" they wish to approach the material. By the end of class, students will have written a science fiction short story, novel fragment, or even piece of speculative poetry that will be workshopped by the class.
