Six Keys to Nonfiction Prose [Wendy Call]
Six weeks, six keys. In each session, we’ll explore one essential element of creative nonfiction: creating a story arc, honing your first-person narrator, developing strong characters, gathering good material, choosing the right story to tell, and crafting overall theme. All literary nonfiction genres, from literary journalism to lyric essay to liner notes, are welcome. We will spend roughly equal portions of class time discussing the readings, reviewing elements of craft, and completing writing exercises.
