Voice in Young Adult & Middle Grade Fiction
Genres: Fiction, Young Adult/Children's Lit
Voice, the unique qualities that give your writing personality, is a top priority for agents, editors, and readers of modern kidlit. Creating an inventive voice will make your work stand out and make readers fall in love. In this course, we will read varied examples of voice from young adult and middle grade novels. Then we will use techniques to push ourselves out of our voice comfort zones in an effort to bring us closer to our own authentic sounds.
