Yearlong in Poetry with Bill Carty
This yearlong poetry class will combine weekly readings of poetry and craft essays to develop the vocabulary to read and respond to each other's work. The class will mix workshop (in large and small groups), in-class exercises, weekly take-home prompts, and a discussion of contemporary poems and craft concerns. Our ultimate goal will be to set students up for future poetic endeavors, including developing a short collection of poems, discussing submitting work for publication, and creating a long-term writing practice.
No class on 11/24, 12/22, & 12/29.
