Actors have a big bag of tricks for creating a believable character, many of which may be useful to the writer of fiction or memoir. Thinking like an actor can help you create characters that leap from the page. Show up with anything from the vaguest sketch to a fleshed-out character whose mind you still haven’t cracked and leave with a character ready to move your story forward. We’ll look at tools for describing ourselves and the people we know, as well as for generating the people who populate our fiction.
Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online until further notice. If there's a possibility that your class might take place in person, you will be notified in advance. Even if classes can be held in person, there will always be a hybrid option to participate via Zoom.
Classes with "Zoom" in the title will be held via Zoom even after our doors open. Classes listed as "Online" will be held on Wet Ink, our platform for asynchronous learning.
All times are listed in Pacific Time.
