The best way to learn to write fiction is to do it, receive informed and constructive feedback, and then revise. Each student will bring one manuscript of up to 8,000 words (either stand-alone story or the beginning of a novel) to be critiqued by other students and the instructor. The instructor will also review your rewrite, if you choose, after the class has ended. Critiquing will be supplemented by instructor-led discussion, writing exercises, and hand-outs on aspects of technique. Receive professional suggestions to improve your writing in a supportive but honest atmosphere.
Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Winter quarter 2021.
All times are listed in Pacific Time.
