We will focus on understanding our own particular perspective as writers. We’ll discuss how to construct characters by writing through their eyes, and how writers from Baudelaire to William Carlos Williams and Saul Bellows revealed their characters by isolating the way they “see” the world.
Dinaw Mengestu received a B.A. from Georgetown University and an M.F.A. from Columbia University. His journalism and fiction have appeared in such publications as the Iowa Review, Granta, Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, and the Wall Street Journal.
