Start the New Year right with an all-level generative poetry workshop using guided writing prompts. Bring a notebook, pen, and your willingness to experiment with a mix of fixed forms, instructions, riffs, imitations, and bizarre premises. Expect to leave with six new poems. We will mine the goods from poems by Kay Ryan, Ellen Bass, Natalie Diaz, James Tate, and others. There will be limited critical feedback; this class is about making poems, not fixing them.
Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Spring quarter 2021.
All times are listed in Pacific Time.
