Wallace Stevens says the poet’s subject is his or her sense of the world. For writers of all genres, we will experiment with right-brain writing strategies aimed at retrieving tiny filaments of memory, remembered gestures, and atmospheres that will inform our understanding of our “sense of the world.” Examples by Franz Kafka, Sandra Cisneros, and others will be discussed.
Joan Fiset's "Now the Day is Over" (Blue Begonia) won the King County Publication Award. "Namesake" (Blue Begonia) is forthcoming in 2015.
