The Art of the Interview

Beginning. Whether it’s a memoir or essays you’re researching, what you learn about your nonfiction topics depends on what questions you ask—and how you ask them. Learn techniques for interviews (in person and via email), including how to prepare in advance, how to listen actively and how not to miss the follow-up question. We’ll hear examples of technique from writers, as well as try our hands at writing from an interview at least once during the class.
