The Mechanics of Comics and Graphic Novels

Introductory | We’ll look at examples from masters of comics and cartoons while exploring different aspects of the medium through a variety of exercises and assignments. Each student will generate multiple short pieces which can be shared via the Padlet website. Students will present their best work in an online reading during the final session. For this online class, drawing ability is not as important as the desire to communicate your ideas clearly.

Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Spring quarter 2021.

All times are listed in Pacific Time.
