Think pieces and “take” articles have proliferated in the Internet’s culture of daily content. This can be a lucrative market for quick, incisive writers. But how do you trust that you have something to say? How do you think beyond the think piece and write an essay that is artful, not merely topical? This class will help you to mine your obsessions and guilty pleasures and to articulate original cultural connections to create developed and intelligent essays.
Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Winter quarter 2021.
All times are listed in Pacific Time.
