Writing Alongside Local Poets

In this class, we’ll draw inspiration from the notion that poetry begins at home by writing alongside, and visiting with, four local poets: Quenton Baker, Priscilla Long, Melanie Noel, and Anastacia-Renee. These “close-to-home” encounters will help us begin to understand the range of perspectives that create the intellectual and aesthetic world of Seattle in the present moment. We’ll consider different takes on being productive practicing poets—not just on the page but out in the world, as well.

Due to COVID-19, all classes will take place online-either through Zoom or through Wet Ink, our asynchronous learning platform-through Spring quarter 2021.

All times are listed in Pacific Time.
