Erich Schweikher is currently the Director of College Counseling at Northwest Yeshiva High School. His passion for college counseling comes from his belief that all students deserve opportunity and options. For twelve years, he has worked with students as a college counselor and English teacher in private high schools. Previous to his career in secondary education, he taught English and writing at community college and university. From his experience working in high schools and in higher education, he has gained an understanding of how diverse backgrounds, talents, and interests all have a place in selective colleges.
In addition to being an educator and college counselor, Erich is a published author and editor. He teaches adult and youth poetry courses at Hugo House, and is a recent recipient of the Seattle’s Office of Arts and Culture smART Ventures grant. He is the founder and editor of the literary journal and micro-press COAST|noCOAST.
Erich holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Boise State University and a BA in English Literature and a BA in Anthropology from Beloit College.
He is a member of NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) and PNACAC (Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling).
