Matt Briggs is a writer from the Pacific Northwest. His essay "Falling and Always Falling: Twin Peaks and the Clear-Cut Landscape" appeared in Moss: Volume One. His short stories have been published in The Seattle Review, StringTown, the Chicago Review, and elsewhere. He is the author of eight works of fiction, including the novel in stories The Remains of River Names and the novel Shoot the Buffalo, which was nominated for a Washington State Book Award and won the Before Columbus Foundation's American Book Award. Briggs grew up in the Snoqualmie Valley and currently live in Des Moines, Washington.Â
