Silent Reading Night – March Edition
Date: Thursday, March 19th
Time: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Theme: Pages Shared: A Community Book Exchange
We wanted to celebrate this month’s silent reading night with a community book exchange themed reading night! Feathered Pages will be tabling for this event.
Event Activities:
Community Book Swap
To participate in the book swap, let the front desk know upon arrival and receive your raffle ticket. One book = 1 ticket. Feel free to bring as many books as you would like to swap!
- Grab some wrapping paper from the front desk with a blank note card that answers one of these two prompts:
- “Why I loved this book…” or “describe this book in a sentence..”
- Wrap up the book and tape the note card to the cover with the answered prompt.
- Drop books at categorized area on the stage
- Fiction
- Nonfiction
- Romance
- Fantasy/Sci-Fi
- Memoir
Raffle Announcement (at 8:30 PM)
There will be up to 5 winners! The prize is a Hugo House tote with books inside!
Event Itinerary
6:00 PM – Mix & Mingle
- Grab a cup of tea and settle in.
- Meet fellow readers and share what book you’re currently enjoying.
- BYOM – Bring Your Own Mug! Hot water will be available.
6:30 PM – Silent Reading Begins
- Settle into your cozy reading spot and dive into your book.
- Enjoy the quiet atmosphere of reading in community.
7:30 PM – Reading Break
- Chat with your neighbor! Ask them what they are reading.
- Grab a snack or drink at the bar
- Check out Feathered Pages' book table
7:40 PM – Break Ends
- Head back to the Lapis Theater and do more reading.
8:30 PM – Social Time & Book Chats
- Share thoughts on your reads, favorite passages, or just connect with fellow book lovers.
- 3 raffle winners are announced.
9:00 PM – Event Concludes
This is our monthly Silent Reading Night, each month we will have a new theme to inspire your reading. Rediscover the joy of reading in good company at the Hugo House.
