At Hugo House, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to engage in creative writing, regardless of their financial situation. We understand that not everyone can afford our classes, so we strive to make them more accessible to our community by offering scholarships.
To ensure our scholarships benefit as many people as possible, we now offer funding for the portion of tuition that applicants cannot afford. Our scholarships typically range from 10% to 40% off the full tuition cost, with full scholarships granted only in very rare circumstances. We appreciate your understanding as we work to make our classes accessible to everyone.
To apply for a scholarship, please browse our Class Catalog, choose a class, and click on the Request a Scholarship link in red. This will take you to an application form to join the waitlist for a scholarship to one of our creative writing classes.
Applying for a scholarship does not guarantee a seat in the class, and we are unable to reserve seats.
Scholarships will be provided as a coupon code with a fixed discount and can be used only for the specific class you applied for. If seats become available, accepted applicants will be notified via email with their coupon code and enrollment instructions.
Scholarship coupon codes are valid for new enrollments only and cannot be applied retroactively.

Due to the limited number of scholarships, please only request one if you truly meet the financial need requirements. We also ask that you provide the maximum tuition amount you are able to cover, as this will help us extend scholarships to more students.
