Join Ashley Adair, founder of Beguiled Books, Seattle's original romance bookstore as she shares the journey from a pink and white striped mobile book trailer to a thriving storefront in Pioneer Square. In this industry talk, Ashley will discuss the realities of building a niche bookstore and creating experiences that turn customers into community. She’ll also touch on the overall publishing industry and trends in the romance genre.

Ashley Adair is the owner and founder of Beguiled Books, Seattle's original romance bookstore. She launched the business as a mobile 'booktique' in a renovated cargo trailer before expanding into a brick-and-mortar storefront in Pioneer Square in 2025. Prior to opening Beguiled, she spent 15 years in human resources and earned her MBA from Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. She is a life-long romance reader and has been a fan of the genre since she could steal her grandma's Harlequins.
